Opportunities to support College Hills Elementary will occur year round. The best way to be informed is to contact our VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Coordinator by an email to .


To volunteer during school, there is a two-step process that needs to completed each year. It can done in a brief time online. We appreciate your help!


STEP 1: Let College Hills know what you are interested in hearing about for volunteering this school year.

STEP 2: Get approved by CSISD to be a volunteer.

Please fill out the application found on the CSISD website in order to be approved to volunteer during school hours. This form is processed through the Human Resources department and saves individual schools from running their own state background checks. Find the form at under the “Parent Info” tab and scroll down to “Volunteering" or by click the link below:






Through your classroom teacher and by PTO emails throughout the year, volunteers are coordinated to help with many needs such as:

Book Fairs

Assist nurse or art teacher

Thanksgiving lunch

Paw Print Festival

Fall Fundraiser

Field trip chaperones

Teacher Appreciation events and more


Additionally, we are always recruiting new parents to be involved in PTO. Please join us at our next meeting (often on 2nd Thursdays of each month at noon in the library) or contact or PTO president here. 


While PTO positions may often have a vacancy, Feb- May is when both the College Hills and Oakwood PTOs are working to organize a new board for the next school year.
